Palinga Devon Stud was established in 1985 with the purchase of a small number of registered Devon females from the Coppermine herd. The Devon cows performed extremely well in our conditions compared to the mixture of other breeds we had at the time. Since then we began a program to source high performing Devon genetics as the basis for our herd.

A wide variety of females were purchased from the leading Devon Studs of Lewisham, Longacres, Tirranna, Wombramurra, Havilah, Ban Ban and Coppermine. Stock were selected that were high performers within their own herds determined by known pedigrees and BREEDPLAN. Since then our aim has been to increase our herd size and still maintain the high quality and hard working traits that we selected our original herd on.

Along the way we have proved that Devons can match any breed for all round performance. Whether it be in direct comparison, exhibiting cross bred and pure bred steers in carcase competitions, trialling steers through feedlots with excellent feed conversion to produce ideal quality carcasses, or preparing and exhibiting our best stud show stock.

In recent years we have had much success in the showring, being the most successful exhibitor at many major Devon showings. Along with the numerous Interbreed Champions at National and Local shows, proving that Palinga Devons are among the best cattle within the breed and can match it with any other breed consistently.

Currently our herd consists of approximately 80 breeders run on our 500 acre home property. Only our best quality male calves are kept as bulls to be sold as Devons sires at around 2-3 years of age.
