The Mount Lookout Devon stud consists of approximately 350 registered cows, at least 10 Sires, Reserve Sires and followers.

The goal of the Stud is to consistently breed Bulls and heifers that fit into our tripartite equation of numbers (fertility) highest gross margin (High yielding, do-ers low wastage) and lowering overheads (easy care, docile, low wages).

 

The Stud wants to engineer the beef breed of the future! The Stud wants a feed efficient, highly fertile (>95% conception), range of early maturing animals and also larger framed, later maturing beasts. The Stud does not want to go back to the past, it is focussed on looking forward.
